It’s almost that time again! My annual Birthday Serve-a-Thon with HandsOn Greater Phoenix is coming up on Saturday, April 11, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate another trip around the sun than by rolling up our sleeves and doing some good together.
If you’ve joined us before, you know the drill: we gather our amazing crew of Charity Chicks (and friends), take on a meaningful service project, laugh a lot, work hard, and make a real difference for a local organization. Every year looks a little different — and that’s part of the fun.
This year we will be working with a team we worked with previously. We will be working on a project at the Heart of Isaac Community Center which aims to empower local families towards self-sufficiency and improved quality of life by providing essential resources, education, and support services. Acting as a community hub, the center fosters a resilient, engaged community through partnerships, clothing and food assistance.
We will be doing a variety of different projects that day from building a free little Library, creating a activity path and painting hopscotch games and murals, as well as tackling some organization in some of the rooms.
So if you’re thinking about joining us, go ahead and register now. Invite a friend, bring a family member, or come solo and meet some great people who love to give back.
One thing is for sure: it’s always a good time when Charity Chicks show up ready to serve.
