Last month, I shared the exciting news about my upcoming birthday serve-a-thon event on April 27th. Now, it's time to unveil the incredible project we'll be working on – and trust me, it's a cause that will warm your heart!
This year, we'll be lending our helping hands to Maggie's Place, a remarkable organization that has been providing a safe haven for homeless pregnant women and their babies for over 25 years. Founded with a single house and a mission to support just five moms, Maggie's Place has grown into a thriving community, having served more than 1,000 families to date.
Our mission? To help transform a house in downtown Phoenix into a new home for Maggie's Place. We'll be rolling up our sleeves and diving into various tasks, including painting trim, tending to the yard, assembling furniture, and even creating a beautiful mural to welcome the new residents.
But our efforts don't stop there! If you can't join us for the serve-a-thon on April 27th, Maggie's Place is also in need of various essentials to celebrate the moms and their little ones. That's why we'll be collecting "birthday party in a bag" donations, containing cake mixes, frostings, pans, candles, and decorations – everything needed to make a child's birthday unforgettable.
Additionally, the organization is seeking toys, books, and teen gifts like portable speakers, wallets, headphones, makeup, and gift cards to popular restaurants and stores.
