Our Commitment To Privacy:
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
The Information We Collect:
Our Email List - When you join the Charity Chicks email list, we only ask for your name and email address. If you provide a business card or contact information to a Charity Chick, we will put your complete information in our contact database - and add just your name and email address to our email list. We also track information such as events you've attended or interests you have expressed in the full contact database. If you provide a phone number, we may use it to contact you only if you have registered for an event and we have timely information to share.
This database is for the sole use of Charity Chicks and will not be distributed to anyone else, including community service agencies we partner with. If you wish to join the mailing list of any agency we work with on a Charity Chick project, let that agency know or let the Charity Chick project manager know you'd like your information shared.
Occasionally, we may provide a link to another non-profit organization's donation website if we are fundraising for that agency (such as the Breast Cancer 3-Day site). Please note that when you input your information on that website, they have their own privacy policy and you may be added to an email list at that time.
For statistical purposes our website will record the following information:
- The domain name of your Internet Service Provider, such as "xcompany.com" or "xcompany.net."
- The type of browser (such as "Netscape version X" or "Internet Explorer version X") that you are using.
- The type of operating system that you use (such as Macintosh, Unix, or Windows).
- The date and time you visit our site, and the Web pages that you visit on our site.
- The address of the previous website you were visiting, if you linked to us from another website or an email client.
- The search terms you used, if you linked to us from a search engine.
We use this information for statistical analysis, to help us make our site more useful to visitors.
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself to send emails to invite you to Charity Chick events or to keep you updated on Charity Chick projects. Occasionally, we may also send a holiday-related ecard to the database - just to share good cheer. Our goal is not to overwhelm you with emails and try to keep them to less than 2 per month. Our goal is simply to keep you interested - and hopefully get you ACTIVE in our events and causes!
